APPEAL attended Macfrut 2026, a key international event for the fruit and vegetable supply chain, to explore market trends and engage with stakeholders working on innovation, sustainability and traceability.

In April 2026, members of the APPEAL project attended Macfrut 2026, held at Rimini Expo Centre, Italy.

As one of the key international events dedicated to the fruit and vegetable supply chain, Macfrut offered a valuable opportunity to observe current trends, explore sector needs and connect with stakeholders working across fresh produce, packaging, logistics, traceability and sustainability.

During the visit, the team had the opportunity to follow discussions and gather insights on topics closely connected to the project’s objectives, including sustainable packaging, product identification, food safety, waste management and supply chain transparency.

Participation in Macfrut 2026 helped APPEAL strengthen its perspective on the fresh produce ecosystem and better understand how innovative labelling solutions can respond to the needs of producers, distributors, retailers and consumers.
